Pramit Pal Chaudhuri is not a mere analyst of power but one of those rare thinkers who has studied it, reported on it, and helped shape it. As Practice Head for South Asia at Eurasia Group, he holds together a delicate but vital part of the world map where geopolitics, economics, and foreign policy fuse, and where India's future meets its global standing.

His story starts in journalism. Over three decades, Pramit reported on international affairs, and for many of those years he was Foreign Editor of the Hindustan Times-a role which sharpened his insight into India's place in an ever-shifting global order.

But he didn't stop there: between 2011 and 2015, Pramit served two terms on India's National Security Advisory Board, counseling prime ministers on security and economic challenges. He also dons multiple hats in the policy world-as a delegate in track-two diplomacy (India-US, China, Japan, Israel), as an advisor to think tanks like the Ananta Aspen Centre, Council for Energy Environment & Water, and the Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation.

A scholar by nature, Pramit studied at Cornell University and was a fellow with institutions such as the Fletcher School, the Asia Society, and the Stimson Center. He has wide-ranging international experience: he has lived in several continents and traveled to over 40+ countries. This provides him with a front-row view of the geopolitical complexity.
