What
Home Olympics is engage4more’s most energetically joyful virtual team-building activity — a full Olympics-themed competition structured around 15 fun tasks that employees complete from their home environments, competing in teams against the clock across a diverse range of physical, cognitive, and creative challenges that make the humble home the most exciting sports venue any team has ever competed in. The activity opens with a genuine opening ceremony that sets the competitive, festive tone before the first event begins, and follows a structured Olympic format throughout — events, heats, finals, medal ceremonies — creating a sustained competitive narrative that makes every challenge feel consequential from start to finish.
Our virtual activities are designed using engage4more’s MORE² Framework, which diagnoses the specific engagement dimensions your distributed team needs to strengthen. For organisations aligning virtual engagement to strategic priorities, our SPARK Framework ensures every virtual experience connects to your organisational goals. For maximum impact, we recommend combining virtual activities with one of our expert Motivational Speakers for a complete virtual event programme.
Home Olympics works as a virtual team activity because the home environment is both the great equaliser and the great differentiator: every participant competes from the same basic setting, but the creativity, speed, and competitive ingenuity they bring to each task creates the most authentically individual and most hilariously variable results of any virtual activity format. The tasks are specifically designed to be completable in any home or workspace without any specialist equipment — the most logistically effortless competitive format in our virtual portfolio.

How
Participants join via video conferencing and are divided into national teams for the Home Olympics. The facilitator conducts the opening ceremony before announcing the first event. Each of the 15 tasks is timed, with teams completing the challenge simultaneously and the facilitator judging results via video. Tasks span physical (speed stacking with household items, balance challenges), cognitive (rapid calculation, pattern completion), creative (photo challenges, household construction), and trivia categories. A running medal tally keeps competitive energy high throughout, culminating in a full medal ceremony and closing celebration.
