About The Malik Twins
Tashi and Nungshi Malik, fondly known across India as The Malik Twins, are shining examples of courage, grit, and the power of dreaming fearlessly. Born to a retired Indian Army officer, Col. Virendra Singh Malik, the sisters grew up in an environment that encouraged discipline, resilience, and an unshakeable belief in their abilities. Originally from Anwali village in Haryana’s Sonepat district and later raised in Dehradun, the twins shared more than just their birthdays, they shared a sense of purpose that would eventually take them to the highest points on Earth.
Their story captured the world’s attention on 19 May 2013, when they successfully summited Mount Everest together, becoming the first twin sisters in history to do so. This remarkable achievement set the foundation for many more historic milestones. Their Everest feat was later featured in the Guinness World Records 60th edition, marking them as the first female twins to scale Everest together. But the sisters didn’t stop there. Driven by an unbreakable bond and a desire to challenge stereotypes, they went on to become the first twins and siblings in the world to complete the Seven Summits—climbing the highest peaks of every continent.
Their journey reached yet another extraordinary peak on 16 December 2014, when they summited Mt. Vinson in Antarctica, completing the Explorers Grand Slam, which includes the Seven Summits and skiing to both the North and South Poles. The Malik Twins are not only the youngest but also the first Indian and South Asian women to achieve this rare and prestigious accomplishment.
Their contributions to adventure and women’s empowerment earned them India’s highest adventure honour, the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award (2015), and the Leif Erikson Young Explorers Award in Iceland. Booking the Malik Twins as motivational speakers for your event means bringing in two extraordinary women whose stories of determination, sisterhood, and breaking barriers leave audiences inspired long after the event ends.
