Achievements
His Test debut came against the same opposition in March 2013 at Mohali where he scored the fastest century by any batsman on Test debut and ended his innings with 187 runs from 174 balls. He was also the top-scorer in 2013 and 2017 Champions Trophy tournaments, and holds the record for the fastest Indian to reach 1000 runs in ICC ODI tournaments. After a string of below average performances he silenced his critics once again with his match-winning performances at the 2015 World Cup where he was the leading run-scorer for India. And, in the following year, became the fastest Indian to reach 3,000 ODI runs.
