A lawyer by training, journalist and copywriter by profession, author, stand-up comedian, and certified sexuality educator, Anju wears many hats, but at the core of everything she does lies one mission: to make conversations around safety, sexuality, and self-worth honest, accessible, and stigma-free.
In 2015, Anju founded UnTaboo, a pioneering safety and sex education organisation focused on age-appropriate, gender-sensitive learning for children and adolescents aged 8–18. Over the years, UnTaboo has collaborated with more than 30 reputed schools, including Dhirubhai Ambani International School and The Doon School, impacting thousands of students, parents, and educators across India. In 2024–2025, Anju’s work gained renewed visibility with features in The Times of India (September 2024 and April 2025), highlighting her role in reshaping parenting and education conversations in modern India.
A compelling speaker, Anju has delivered four TEDx talks, where she blends research, real-life stories, and humour to break discomfort and build trust. Her award-winning children’s book, “How I Got My Belly Button,” received the Children’s Book of the Year – Special Jury Award at FICCI PUBLICON and continues to be used as an educational tool by parents and schools. In 2025, she is set to launch India’s first gamified e-learning platform for safety and sex education, marking a significant step toward combating misinformation at scale.
