About Jitu Rai

Jitu Rai is an Olympic shooter and Khel Ratna Award winner who has reinvented himself as one of India's top national shooting coaches after a distinguished 17-year army career. Following engage4more's STRIVE framework for impactful keynotes, his sessions turn a journey from a Nepali farming village to India's elite sporting ranks into structured lessons on precision and reinvention for corporate audiences.

Born in a farming family in Nepal's Sankhuwasabha district, Rai migrated to India and joined the Indian Army's 11 Gorkha Rifles in 2006, where his talent for shooting was first spotted by an army coach. He rose rapidly, winning gold in the 50m pistol at the 2014 Asian Games — India's first gold of that edition — alongside Commonwealth Games gold and a World Championship silver the same year, briefly holding the world No. 1 ranking in 10m air pistol. He represented India at the Rio 2016 Olympics and delivers keynotes and fireside conversations, available in-person and virtually, on precision under pressure, discipline, and career reinvention.

Through engage4more, which has coordinated 5,000+ corporate events across India, Rai has been booked for corporate leadership sessions, youth sports workshops, and inspirational keynotes alike. His story has taken a decisive new turn in 2025–2026: after retiring from the Indian Army on July 1, 2024, following 17.5 years of service and rising to the rank of Honorary Captain, he was appointed the National Rifle Association of India's national coach for 10m air pistol in February 2025. In that role, he has already made a tangible impact — shooter Suruchi Singh has credited a technique tip from Rai for helping her claim multiple gold medals at the 2025 ISSF World Cup. He remains a recipient of the Khel Ratna (2016), the Padma Shri (2020), and the Arjuna Award, and organizers who've booked him describe him as someone who "empowers audiences with stories of focus, discipline, and determination."
