About Sachin Porwal
At NALSAR University of Law in Hyderabad, Sachin Porwal, a visually handicapped law student, has transformed personal hardship into a quest for inclusion and activism. Sachin had many difficulties after receiving a diagnosis of Retinitis Pigmentosa at the age of 13, including being turned down for admission to a private school because of his condition. Unfazed, he successfully obtained admittance by asserting his rights under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and Article 15 of the Indian Constitution. His love for the law was sparked by this life-changing event, which inspired him to study law in order to help those who were subjected to comparable injustices. Beyond the classroom, Sachin uses comedy to promote social change. Through his stand-up comedy, he challenges stereotypes and promotes empathy while illuminating the lives of the blind and visually impaired.
