About We Are One
We Are One (WAO), an inclusive dance academy in Delhi, India, was established in 2016 by Husnain, a Bharatanatyam dancer with training. The academy was founded with the goal of providing a venue for people to gather to study, perform, and enjoy dance, irrespective of their physical capabilities. People with disabilities (PwDs) are trained in a variety of dance styles by WAO, such as Bollywood, Hip Hop, Salsa, Freestyle, Bharatanatyam, and Contemporary. Children as young as eight years old and adults as old as sixty-five make up the academy's diverse faculty and student body. The goal of WAO is to use dance to challenge societal views of disability and highlight the enormous potential of people with disabilities while promoting dignity, empowerment, inclusion, and equality.
