Why Usaid Shaikh?
Usaid Shaikh, a young artist with autism from Mumbai, doesn’t just survive with his diagnosis — he thrives through it, using his neurodiverse strengths to create in ways many can’t. His story proves that autism is not a limitation, but a different lens through which brilliance can emerge. Despite facing barriers in communication and social interaction due to autism, Usaid has found ways to express himself powerfully through art and movement. His career is built not in spite of his condition — but through it.
Usaid doesn’t give motivational speeches — his work speaks for him. His presence in professional design, film, and dance communities challenges stereotypes about people with autism and intellectual disabilities. To young people with disabilities and their families, Usaid shows what’s possible when talent is nurtured and opportunity is given. He is a living case study for inclusion, creativity, and resilience.
