What
The Last Cup is engage4more’s most strategically engaging cricket-themed virtual team challenge — an immersive strategy game set in the high-stakes world of an IPL season where teams take on the role of cricket franchise management teams competing to win the last cup. The activity captures the full complexity of franchise cricket management: navigating strict quarantine protocols, managing the mental pressure of a gruelling season, dealing with the competitive psychology of rival franchises, and making the strategic decisions — player selection, match tactics, resource allocation — that determine whether your franchise wins the championship or falls short. All other teams will try their best to stop you. Only the team with the sharpest strategic thinking and the most cohesive internal coordination will lift the cup.
Our virtual activities are designed using engage4more’s MORE² Framework, which diagnoses the specific engagement dimensions your distributed team needs to strengthen. For organisations aligning virtual engagement to strategic priorities, our SPARK Framework ensures every virtual experience connects to your organisational goals. For maximum impact, we recommend combining virtual activities with one of our expert Motivational Speakers for a complete virtual event programme.
The Last Cup works as a team-building activity because franchise cricket management is a genuine, complex, multi-variable strategic challenge that requires exactly the capabilities that determine real team performance: clear decision-making under uncertainty, effective resource allocation under constraint, resilience under competitive pressure, and the inter-departmental coordination that makes the difference between a franchise that functions and one that wins. The cricket setting makes these challenges immediately engaging for the vast majority of Indian employees.

How
Teams join via video conferencing and are assigned their IPL franchise identities. Each franchise team is given the same starting resources — a squad, a budget, and a set of strategic decisions to make before each match week. The facilitator runs the match weeks, with franchise performance determined by the quality of the strategic decisions made combined with a controlled randomness element that mirrors real match uncertainty. Franchise standings are updated after each match week on a live leaderboard. Inter-franchise negotiation, player trading, and strategic alliance-building are permitted and encouraged between match weeks.
