What
The Stan Lee Challenge is engage4more’s most creatively uninhibited team-building experience — a structured 120-minute workshop where teams design, write, and illustrate their own original superhero comic book from a blank canvas. Named in honour of the man who understood that every compelling story needs a diverse cast with distinct powers, this activity demands out-of-the-box ideas, democratic creative decision-making, role specialisation, and the courage to put imagination on paper — skills as relevant to a product launch pitch as to a comic book panel.
Our delivery is grounded in engage4more’s MORE² Framework, which diagnoses the precise engagement gaps your team needs to address. Where strategic alignment is the objective, we layer in our SPARK Framework to connect the activity to your organisational priorities. To maximise the day’s impact, we recommend anchoring the session with one of our expert Motivational Speakers whose keynote primes the team for the experience ahead.
What makes the Stan Lee Challenge so consistently powerful is the equality it creates at the drawing table. The team member who cannot draw discovers they are the best story architect. The one who has never led a meeting becomes the natural director of the visual sequence. Creative confidence — the belief that your ideas have value — is built through this activity in ways that three days of a creativity training programme rarely achieve.

How
Teams of 5–8 receive a blank comic book canvas, a theme brief, and a toolkit of markers, stencils, and character templates. Our facilitators guide the creative process through structured milestones: character design, power allocation, plot architecture, dialogue writing, and visual execution. Teams are reminded throughout that artistic skill is irrelevant — clarity of idea and strength of collaboration are the only currencies that matter. The session concludes with a “Comic Con Showcase” where each team presents their book with a dramatic reading.
