About Chockalingam
Chockalingam, known to audiences as Chocku, is one of the earliest Tamil-language stand-up comedians and a pioneer of the Tanglish Comedy movement, blending Tamil and English storytelling with natural, surprising "nakkal" (sarcastic) humor. Born and raised in Madurai, he has been performing stand-up since 2016, drawing on his small-town roots for a distinctive, unmistakably regional comedic voice.
Over his career, Chocku has performed close to 150 shows across Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, and Kolkata, and has shared the stage with major national names including Zakir Khan, Amit Tandon, and Daniel Fernandes. He continues to tour with a full-length hour-long Tamil stand-up special, "C For Chocku," launched in January 2025, alongside a strong following of 20,000+ on Instagram.
His comedy stays clean and non-offensive by design, built for multilingual audiences who move easily between Tamil and English — a style that plays especially well in front of diverse, mixed-region corporate crowds.
Booked through engage4more, the platform behind 5,000+ corporate events across India, Chocku brings his multilingual, clean comedy to corporate stages nationwide. His act reflects the corporate-readiness checks in engage4more's P.U.N.C.H.Y. comedian-vetting framework — personality fit, unheard material, and cost clarity among them — making him a dependable choice for professional audiences, especially those looking for authentic regional comedy with broad appeal. For planners who want a genuine pioneer of Tanglish comedy with a full-length touring special under his belt, Chockalingam is a distinctive, accomplished choice.
