About Sumit Sourav

Sumit Sourav is a comedian and YouTuber originally from the small town of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, now based in Mumbai. He describes his comedy as "an absurd take of banal subjects" — a style shaped in part by his early confusion navigating the cultural diversity of his hometown, and later refined through a career as a designer and editor, including work at BYJU'S conceptualizing and animating visual study content.

Sumit built his stand-up career the traditional way, starting as an open-micer after moving to Kolkata, then performing in Bangalore before establishing himself on the Mumbai comedy circuit. He became a contestant on 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge' before appearing on Comicstaan Season 2, a run that brought him wider recognition. He has since released an Amazon Prime Video stand-up special, 'Vansh Ka Naash,' and appeared on 'Amazon Funnies – 10 Minute Stand-ups,' also on Amazon Prime Video.

His comedy blends his design background with sharp, observational writing, giving both his YouTube content and live sets a distinctive visual and storytelling edge that resonates especially with younger, digitally engaged audiences.

Booked through engage4more, the platform behind 5,000+ corporate events across India, Sumit brings fresh, clean comedy to corporate stages where customization matters. His act reflects the corporate-readiness checks in engage4more's P.U.N.C.H.Y. comedian-vetting framework — personality fit, unheard material, and cost clarity among them — making him a dependable choice for professional audiences. For planners who want a comedian with real Amazon Prime Video credentials and a design-forward comedic sensibility, Sumit Sourav is a distinctive, up-and-coming choice.

Why Sumit Sourav ?

Sumit has appeared on Comicstaan Season 2, released the special 'Vansh Ka Naash,' and featured on 'Amazon Funnies – 10 Minute Stand-ups' — all on Amazon Prime Video. For organizers, that's a rare concentration of streaming-platform credentials for a comedian at his career stage.

His background in design and editing, including work at BYJU'S, gives his material and content a distinctive visual and storytelling polish. For organizers, that translates to a set that feels crafted rather than loose.

Sumit built his craft across Kolkata, Bangalore, and Mumbai, and competed on The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. For organizers, that breadth of stage-tested experience across different regional audiences is a signal of adaptability.

His absurdist take on everyday, mundane subjects resonates strongly with younger, digitally engaged audiences. For organizers targeting a younger workforce demographic, that's a specific, practical fit.

Sumit tailors his material to different sectors, age groups, and event needs. For organizers, that customization means a set built around their specific event rather than a generic touring act.

His online presence adds visibility to internal event promotions. For organizers, his participation can extend an event's reach well beyond the room itself.
