Angaraag Mahanta, also known as Papon, is an Assamese playback singer and songwriter who sings in various languages including Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Tamil, and Marathi. He is the principal singer and founder of Papon and The East India Company, a folk-fusion band. His music has been recognised as having traces of ghazals and spans genres such as ambient electronic, acoustic folk, and Indian classical music.
