About Baluji Shrivastav

A well-known Indian-British multi-instrumentalist, Baluji Shrivastav OBE is praised for his proficiency with the sitar, dilruba, surbahar, pakhavaj, and tabla. He started his musical career at the Ajmer Blind School after being blind at the age of eight months. He later graduated from the University of Lucknow and Allahabad University with degrees in vocal studies, sitar, and tabla. Throughout his career, he has worked with international superstars including Shakira, Massive Attack, Coldplay, and Stevie Wonder. In an effort to promote diversity in the arts, he formed the Inner Vision Orchestra in 2012, which is the first blind musicians' ensemble in the United Kingdom. His works, which combine modern sounds with Indian classical traditions, have appeared in theater, cinema, and television.

1. Honoured with the Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2016 for his contributions to music and the establishment of the Inner Vision Orchestra
