Sumukhi Suresh is one of the most versatile female comedians in India and is a popular face in various web comedy sketches. She rose to fame after portraying the character of an NGO employee, ‘Sumukhi Chawla’, in India’s first mockumentary-style series, Better Life Foundation. Sumukhi hosted the first season of Comicstaan and was a judge for the second season. She is famous for writing and acting in many comedy sketches, starring in movies, and creating viral videos on YouTube. She has also created the semi-autobiographical, Amazon Prime series, Pushpavalli. Hindustan Times referred to Sumukhi Suresh as “India’s Tina Fey” and we can’t deny the resemblance.
Fun Fact- Sumukhi Suresh has a special place in her heart for ice-creams and is a die-hard foodie. Before taking up comedy full time, she worked at a food lab and also ran a bakery.
Urooj Ashfaq
Urooj Ashfaq is a young comedian and is one of the most sought-after young talents among the new generation. She found her first claim to fame through the TLC show, Queens of Comedy, where she was one of the finalists and a comedy force to reckon with. She has also worked on numerous projects as a comedy writer and put her best wits to use in both fiction & non-fiction formats (Better Life Foundation, Die Trying). She has also acted in multiple comedy properties (AIB’s If Apps were people, When some is sick sketches). She is famous for her effortless and crisp comedy. Known for her hilarious punchlines and jokes on the entertainment industry, she is one of the most popular youth-centric comedians. Shraddha Jain (Aiyyoshraddha)
The internet sensation has been regularly posting videos that she shoots in five languages, Kannada, Hindi, English, Marathi, and Tulu. She has posted videos on the conversations between resident associations, stress of online classes for teachers, and common complaints from frustrated employees in the lockdown. After posting a hilarious video in 2016, which caught the attention of Viacom18’s Colors Kannada, she was brought to a dance reality show and later to work as a creative director for a range of comedy shows and reality competitions. There is no doubt that Aiyyoshraddha is an entertainer to the core and a treat to watch.

Aditi Mittal
There is a big list of Aditi Mittal’s achievements and it’s almost never-ending. She is one of the first female stand-up comedians in India who has been rated amongst ‘India’s top 10 stand-up Comedians’ by The Times of India and is also featured in CNN-IBN as ‘Top 30 witty, intelligent and incredibly funny Indian women to follow on Twitter’. In 2009, she was one of the first 5 Indians to be featured in an Indians-only stand-up show called Local Heroes, organized by the U.K based ‘The Comedy Store’. Today, she is a regular at Canvas Laugh Factory, Comedy Store Mumbai & has performed at many humor festivals across the country, at clubs in the UK & at Laugh Factory, Los Angeles. In 2013, Mittal was invited by the BBC for the prestigious 100 Women conference in London. She has also been featured in the American documentary, Stand-Up Planet, along with American & South African comics. She was one of the founding members of the Ghanta Awards & the Filmfail Awards, two of the biggest parody award shows in India. As we said, this is just the beginning, her growth as a comedian has no break to it and we are only cheering for her being her true fans.

Aishwarya was one of the top 10 contestants in Comicstaan and since then she has written for shows like Son of Abish, Behti Naak, and On Air with AIB. She has performed in various comedy venues such as Canvas Laugh Club and NCPA. Also, she can recite the alphabet backward. She is one of the most trending stand-up comedians who is well known for her straight-faced humour which guarantees a rib-tickling experience and sarcasm is her USP.

Anuradha Menon
There’s nothing that Anuradha Menon cannot do. She is an Indian stand-up comedian, best known for her alter ego ‘Lola Kutty’ as a VJ on Channel V. She opened the show for internationally acclaimed comedians, Brad Sherwood and Colin Mochrie, of ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway’ fame during their India tour. She has performed at many live events and also co-written a two-woman sketch comedy show called ‘Rinse Cycle’. She is also an established theatre actor and has performed in India and internationally. Kaneez Surka
Kaneez Surka is a South African actress, comedian, and Indian YouTuber, who works mainly in India. After attending Rhodes University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in law and psychology, she started her career with the show The Week That Wasn’t. She was a judge on the two seasons of the famous show Comicstaan on Amazon Prime. She is known for her improvisational comedy style. Born into a Muslim family, Kaneez is ethnically a Gujarati who has created her own niche in the world of comedy and is a known face on the Indian comedy circuit.
Fun Fact- Before becoming one of the greatest comedians in India, Kannez Surka started her career in India as an actor in the Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Kumar starrer, Dosti: Friends Forever.
Neeti Palta
Neeti Palta is one of the very few female stand-up comedians in India who brings a female perspective on a variety of daily life situations and relatable subjects, all with a dose of rib-tickling humor!. She started her career with an advertisement company, where she worked for almost 12 years. She was voted as the ‘Best Stand-Up Comic’ at the Oz Fest and was India’s first stand-up artist to perform at the prestigious Melbourne Comedy Festival 2013. She has performed for an audience of 30+ nations at the invitation of the former Under-Secretary-General of the UN, Dr. Shashi Tharoor. She was also featured at TEDx in 2011. When it comes to Neeti Palta, the list of her achievements is endless. Prashasti Singh is another such name who is leaving all of us in awe with her talents. She tours various cities of India to perform her acts. She basically got up late in life and decided to tick stand-up comedy out of her bucket list. Now she’d rather be funny than rich and we’ll just say, we’re elated with her choices.
Fun Fact- Before becoming a stand-up comedian, she was a very studious girl who finished her MBA from IIM Lucknow and went on to work in big companies. She also worked in StarTv as a category head. She’s basically an all-rounder.
Bharti Singh
Bharti Singh is one of the most well-known faces in the comedy industry today. She was the second runner-up of the fourth season of the TV reality series, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge on STAR One. In 2011 she performed in shows like Jubilee Comedy Circus, Comedy Circus Ke Taansen, and Comedy Circus Ka Naya Daur on Sony TV. She has also been a part of ‘Comedy Circus Ke Tansen’, ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ and ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ showcasing her comic and mimicry skills. She has acted in and hosted many TV shows.
