2. Bharti Singh

Bharti Singh is one of the most well-known faces when it comes to comedy of television. She was the second runner-up of the fourth season of the TV reality series, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge on STAR One. In 2011 she performed in shows like Jubilee Comedy Circus, Comedy Circus Ke Taansen, and Comedy Circus Ka Naya Daur on Sony TV. She also co-hosted the show ‘Comedy Nights Bachao’ and ‘India’s Got Talent’ (2014 & 2016), on Colors TV. She has performed stand-up comedy at numerous live events, including prestigious events like the Filmfare and IIFA Awards. She is one of the most prolific female comedians in India, famous for her way of narration and known for her confident and bold comedy style. 3. Raju Srivastav (Late)

we cannot talk about comedy and Indian television without talking of Raju Srivastav, who was a true comedy legend. He brought a comedy revolution on the Indian television industry. He was a comedy genius who was funny without even trying. He contested in the comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and became the runner-up. He won the title of “The King of Comedy” in its spin-off show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge – Champions. His “Han Ye Karlo Pehle” perhaps win the title of our all-time favorite meme and there’s no way we use this line without picturing the king of comedy. It shows how some legendary things cannot be changed and kings remain.

4. Sugandha Mishra

Sugandha who is a prominent comedian on Indian television was recognized after she participated and became a deserving finalist on the TV show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ on STAR One where she was loved by her fans. She has also been a part of ‘Comedy Circus Ke Tansen’, ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ and ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ showcasing her comic timing and mimicry skills. She has acted in and hosted many TV shows. Known for brilliant mimicry and innovative comic sketches of many celebrities, especially Lata Mangeshkar, apart from being a comedian she has the talent of a voice-over artist as well. 5. Amit Tandon

Amit Tandon is another famous stand-up comedian on television well known for his comic timings and punches. His show “Goodnight India” on Sab TV is one of the first one of its kinds talk show in the Indian comedy space. He has performed over 700 shows across the globe and is also responsible for bringing the popular comedy face-off show, Fight Comic to India. His comedy is centered around everyday life and he is noted for his hilarious and clean comedy. He also hosted a weekly show “Sannu Ki” on Radio City91.1 and was the first comedian featured on NDTV’s Rising Stars of Comedy. The well-known humorist and professional stand-up comedian, also known as ‘The Married Guy’, is a complete entertainment package for your whole family.

6. Johnny Lever

Johnny Lever is one of the first stand-up comedians in India. He began his career in 1984 and has since acted in over three hundred movies. He has won numerous awards including the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Comic Role. His comic timing and talent in mimicry cannot be compared to anyone. Lever appeared on Zee TV in his own show, titled Johny Aala Re and also appeared as a judge on the stand-up reality show Comedy Circus in 2007. Today when his name comes up, we can only think of his legendary career in the comedy space.

7. Sunil Grover

Sunil Grover is an Indian stand-up comedian who came into the limelight for his portrayal as Gutthi on Comedy Nights with Kapil but gained popularity for playing the role of Dr. Mashoor Gulati on The Kapil Sharma Show. Grover was also seen in the Bollywood film Bharat. Discovered during his college days by the late satirist, Jaspal Bhatti, he has acted in India’s first silent comedy show on SAB TV’s ‘Gutur Gu’. One of the most popular and loved comedians in India who promises an entertaining time to his audiences. His character “Gutthi” from Kapil Sharma Show has an international fan-following. Grover has a charismatic and funny personality which is loved by the audiences.

8. Sunil Pal

Sunil Pal is another Indian comedian who conquered the world of comedy on television with her sheer talent and skills. He won The Great Indian Laughter Challenge which was aired on Star One and went on to write and direct a comedy film, Bhavnao Ko Samjho, which featured a record 51 prominent stand-up comedians. His self-created character of the drunkard “Ratan Noora” is also widely acclaimed. He has worked in various Bollywood films including Phir Hera Pheri, Hum Tum, Apna Sapna Money Money and many more. He still does live shows around the world which are a treat to watch.

9. Munawar Faruqui 

We can’t have a list without the mention of the controversial comedian Munawar Faruqui, who is extremely popular among the fans especially after winning the Television reality show “Lock Upp”. He touched hearts by being vulnerable with the audiences and is since growing to become another star of the comedy world just by being honest about his life experiences. There’s no doubt that in no time he will be known around the world for the world is his oyster.

10. Krushna Abhishek

Krushna Abhishek came into limelight after participating in the reality comedy show series of Comedy Circus. Ever since then he has not stopped. He has worked extensively on television and Bollywood movies and is a known face in the TV comedy sector. Krushna has also won numerous awards for his talent like Indian Telly Award for Best Actor in a Comic Role in 2014, ITA Award for Best Actor in a Comic Role for the Kapil Sharma Show in 2019 and many more. His hilarious nature and funny antics don’t want to make you switch off the television.

11. Sudesh Lehri

Sudesh Lehri has made a great impact on the comedy world in Television. He participated in the 2007 comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge III and ever since then has been active in various comedy shows on television. His partnership with Krushna Abhishek has garnered him a wild acclaim. He has also been a part of numerous Bollywood films like Ready, Jai Ho, Total Dhamaal, Great Grand Masti and many more. He has a reputation of being one of the best comedians in India.

12. Shekhar Suman

Shekhar Suman is a prominent Indian actor, comedian, host and singer who has been in the entertainment industry for almost four decades. He has had a successful career in comedy and has even won the Bollywood Movie Award for Best Comedian Chor Machaye Shor. He has been the host and judge of numerous comedy shows on television including Comedy Circus, Comedy Superstar, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and many more. He appears regularly on various TV shows, entertaining the audience in more than one ways.
